Interventional Cardiologist Joins Sanford Aberdeen Team
(Aberdeen, SD) — Sanford Health Aberdeen Clinic is pleased to announce that Puneet Sharma, MD is joining its team of health care providers. Dr. Sharma specializes in Interventional Cardiology. Sanford's Interventional Cardiology specialists provide catheter-based treatments for heart disease. As minimally invasive procedures, catheter-based interventions can help reduce pain, minimize scars, decrease chance of infection and shorten recovery times.
Dr. Sharma is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology and nuclear cardiology. “I am excited to join my fellow interventional cardiologist, Dr. John Windsor, as well as the entire Sanford Aberdeen team. We all look forward to serving the patients and their families in the surrounding area both at the clinic and in our new state-of-the art hospital facility," Dr. Sharma noted.
Dr. Sharma completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and general cardiology at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He received his residency training in internal medicine from Drexel University, College of Medicine in Philadelphia and the PtBDS Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in India.
Dr. Sharma, his wife Manisha Balhara, MD and their two children recently moved to the Aberdeen community.
