Sanford Aberdeen hosting diaper drive for victims of child abuse

ABERDEEN, S.D. —Sanford Aberdeen is hosting a diaper drive to collect needed supplies for local families as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. All items collected will be donated to the Aberdeen Area Child Protection Team.

The Child Protection Team, made up of members from 10 community businesses and organizations, seeks to combine efforts to assist in the prevention of child abuse and treatment for child abuse victims and their families.

“The Child Protection Team is an important collaborative group in our community that helps children who have been abused and their families,” said Ashley Erickson, executive director of Sanford Aberdeen. “Every donation helps local children and furthers the team’s mission to address the issue of child abuse in our community.”

In-demand items include the following:

  • Diapers (especially sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6)
  • Baby shampoo
  • Baby wash
  • Diaper rash ointment
  • Baby wipes

Throughout the month of April, these items can be dropped off at the Sanford Aberdeen Clinic or Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center welcome desk.
